Safety Manager for the general contractor overseeing an industrial new build at the
Martin Drake power plant (Scrubber Project) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Phase 2, 3,
and 4 totaling $45,000,000 consists of poured in place tall concrete walls, footings
and flat work, as well as steel erection, fiber glass and carbon steel piping, and
electrical. Critical picks for large duct work weighing 220,000 pounds which is tripped
with a second crane and then flown in place using a 300 ton crane with two hundred
feet of boom. This project has been audited by OSHA and AISC with zero citations
issued.
Responsibilities include:
•Overall safety of the project
•Employee training which includes new hire orientation, site specific orientation, GHS,
fall protection, LOTO, permit confined space, equipment operator, and other training
as the project progresses.
•Hazard identification and mitigation and site audits with client involvement.
• Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings for all hands on site.
• Coach employees on specific safety concerns and corrective actions when unsafe
conditions or acts occur.
•Write JHAs, AHAs, risk analysis, and review and approve subcontractors safety
programs and JHAs

potential hazards along with lesson’s learned from past work. Perform weekly safety
audits and implement corrective actions as needed. Handle new hire safety

with the craft hands prior to performing each task. Handle all employee safety
training, equipment training and operating certification. Manage PFAS inspections,
